Resort 2027: Prints and Shapes Boutiques Are Booking Now
Floral chiffon, strapless minis and long printed maxis — how to build a resort capsule that sells before the season starts.

Resort buying happens early because the customer buys early. She is planning a trip, and she wants the dress before she packs. For a boutique, that means the resort capsule has to be on the floor while the weather still makes it feel aspirational, and it has to be built from prints that photograph well enough to sell online.
Floral prints are the safe core
Floral is the print that carries resort every year because it needs no explanation. The difference between a good and a bad floral capsule is scale and silhouette, not the print itself. A large floral on a long chiffon maxi reads as holiday; the same print on a short strapless dress reads as a party. Stocking both gives the customer two occasions from one print story.
In this range, the floral story runs across a long boho maxi with a ruffled wrap front and a strapless floral mini with a sweetheart neckline. They share a palette, so they merchandise together, but they sell to different moments.
Chiffon over cotton for summer selling
Chiffon keeps a long dress light, which is what makes a resort maxi wearable in heat. It also photographs with movement, and movement is what makes a still image read as a holiday. For a store selling online, that matters as much as the fit.
How many styles to book
A resort capsule does not need many styles if they are chosen well. One long print, one short print, one solid slip to layer, and one non-dress piece is enough to dress a customer from the airport to dinner. Booking four to six styles at two pieces each keeps the investment small enough to repeat the winners before the season ends.
The timing problem
The hardest part of resort is not selection, it is timing. Prints that arrive after the travel window sits unsold until markdown. That is why a low minimum matters here more than in any other season: it lets a buyer place a second, smaller order once the first styles start selling, instead of committing to the whole season in one bet.
Send us your resort dates and we will confirm which prints can ship in time and which need a production slot.
